Lessons Learned my First Year Full Time Filmmaking

For a majority of my teenage years. I was looking forward to the day I could pursue filmmaking full-time. I wanted the space to give it my all. I wanted the opportunity to just dive in and go for it.

2016 was that year for me. For the first time I had the time and the space to pursue building a media company as my full-time thing. For that reason, I am incredibly grateful for 2016.

This past year did however have more uncertainty than I could have expected or wanted, and yet on the other side of it, I am so glad I took the jump into the unknown.

I sat down and recorded a video about my experience this past year. I tried to be as honest as possible about what is was actually like and some of the things I learned. In my other week to week videos I find it challenging to share some of the struggles that go along with starting a business. I have a hard time with this because I don’t want it to sound like I don’t enjoy what I’m doing, or that I am complaining. And yet, these struggles are part of what made 2016 what is was, and a large reason for what is going to make 2017 so incredible.

So here it is, my 2016 year in review video. I am going to be following it up with a "Goals for 2017" video where I talk about some of the more practical things I am going to be doing to make 2017 a massive success.

I want to sincerely thank you for following along what I do. I am so grateful for to have you along. If you just started following this past week, or you’ve been following for years, it’s so good to have you.
